We want YOU here! The Sioux Falls School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Implementation Specialist in our self-contained (RISE) program. This role supports the educational, behavioral, and personal care needs of students with disabilities within our RISE (Reaching Independence through Structured Environments) program. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and administrators to create a positive and effective learning environment, fostering independence and academic growth. The Intervention Specialist will provide targeted academic support and interventions to students with identified special needs, under the direction and supervision of a certified Special Education Teacher. Promote inclusive education through one-on-one and small-group instruction, data-driven intervention, and collaboration with classroom teachers and families.
REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION LEVEL:High school diploma or equivalent is required along with two years of college coursework in education, special education, or a related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED:Experience working with children with disabilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Capacity to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods. Must be able to physically intervene in situations to ensure student safety, following district-approved training.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with students with disabilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIESInstructional Support- Provide one-on-one and small-group instruction to students with diverse special needs.
- Support the classroom teacher in the implementation of daily lessons.
- Reinforce learning objectives set by the Special Education Teacher and adapt instruction.
- Assist with the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPS).
- Help students with academic tasks, daily living skills, social-emotional development, and personal care needs.
Program Support and Documentation- Support implementation of accommodations and modifications from IEP plans.
- Collect and record data on student behavior and academic progress in accordance with their IEP goals.
- Work with the classroom teacher and other staff to develop and adjust programming.
- Communicate student concerns or progress to the Special Education Teacher.
Classroom Assistance- Support implementation of accommodations and modifications from IEP plans.

PAY INFORMATIONLevel MX, starting at $28.89 per hour
Pay Day: Last working day of each month.
