HOURS: Full-time, Monday- Friday.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The LSS In-School Mentoring Program partners with over 60 schools in the Sioux Falls area as well as Flandreau and Aberdeen to connect adult volunteer mentors with students. The Coordinator plays a vital role in overseeing this program, supporting more than 1,000 mentors each year. The primary point of contact for partner schools - communicating regularly with school personnel about mentor status, tracking mentor/student matches and monitoring mentor attendance. This position also leads all new mentor training sessions for in-school mentors. The Coordinator provides ongoing support to volunteers through regular communications and monthly training opportunities. Additionally, this role assists in mentor recruitment, retention and recognition efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, plus one to two years experience in related human service field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication, organizational and event planning.
- Public speaking and excellent communication skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency auto insurance requirements.
- Must successfully complete all agency background checks. Must be at least 18 years of age.
