Inside Sales & Counter Sales – Industrial Supply

Pay: $19 – $24 per hour depending on experience
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Local Business | No Weekends | Team Environment

Welding, construction, fabrication, or industrial supply experience is a plus.

We are looking for a dependable and customer-focused Inside Sales & Counter Sales Associate to join our team. This role supports daily operations by assisting customers at the front counter and over the phone, processing orders, maintaining inventory, and helping coordinate deliveries when needed.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, staying organized, and being part of a hands-on team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

• Assist customers at the front counter and over the phone

• Process orders and generate sales tickets

• Answer customer questions and provide product support

• Communicate hot shot delivery requests to drivers when urgent orders arise

• Notify customers when prepaid or backordered products arrive

Daily Operations

• Perform start-of-day procedures, including cylinder cage record keeping

• Complete end-of-day procedures, including balancing the cash drawer

• Run daily cash summaries to verify payments and sales tickets

Inventory & Store Organization

• Maintain sales floor inventory in clean, organized, and sellable condition

• Verify serial numbers on non-barcoded tanks and record them for accounting and warehouse processing

• Assist with receiving shipments and organizing the backroom

• Help with stock pulls for route trucks

Operations Support

• Run hot shot deliveries when necessary if drivers are unavailable

• Maintain records and perform basic inspections of spare trucks to ensure readiness

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Basic computer and cash handling skills

• Strong attention to detail and organization

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Reliable with strong work ethic and integrity

• Welding or industrial supply knowledge preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally

• Ability to stand and move throughout the store during the day
