Instrumentation and Electrical Technician – Full Time

**Most of the work for this position will be completed near Watford City, North Dakota. Candidate must live or be willing to live in the area.

Job Summary:

This position will test, calibrate, install, repair, and inspect industrial equipment and monitoring devices at CTBs, wellheads, SWDs and other related facilities. Candidate will be required to have above average trouble shooting skills and understanding of instrumentation and electrical components as related to the sites mentioned before. On a typical day, you will perform activities related to the operation and maintenance of various electrical/electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, measurement, and automation systems in the oil and gas industry. You are expected to follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation equipment on new or existing sites.
  • Use and maintain pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices to inspect, test instruments and system operation, and diagnose faults.
  • Repair, maintain, and adjust system components or remove and replace defective parts.
  • Calibrate and maintain components and instruments according to manufacturers' specifications.
  • Interact with customers and potential customers.


Competencies:

  • Instrumentation and measurement experience as well as programming ability would be preferred.
  • Ability to read P&ID and electrical drawings.
  • Reviews commissioning checklists, service reports, parts usage, and expenses for accuracy and timeliness
  • Coordinates with the customers for onsite field work and scheduling.
  • Reviews project progress to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Sets priorities and workload and evaluates and improves performance routinely.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree in robotics, electronics, engineering, SCADA or similar field.
  • Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position including but not limited to:
  • Manual/power tools
  • Electronic testing devices
  • Control devices

Working Conditions

The primary duties for this position will require working in all forms of weather and seasons. The daily working hours for this position can and will vary. This position requires a 10-hour+ workday. Start times, and length of workday may vary depending on scope of work.

  • Travel to various sites within the area
  • Must have a valid US driver's license
  • Frequent overtime may be required.
  • Candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and background check.


Salary $65,000 - $80,000
