Position Description:
Interns will be assigned a variety of duties that will help them gain knowledge and experience needed to work for South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks, Division of State Parks. Duties will include, but are not limited to; learning the Point of Sale system-GoOutdoorsSD, trouble shooting problems for seasonal staff, customer service skills, basic building and grounds maintenance, organizational and leadership skills, developing and presenting a nature program, and educating visitors on park rules and enforcing as needed. Other duties as assigned. Will alternate between day and evening shifts. Basic computer skills, Word and Excel experience, sales experience helpful.
Qualifications:
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
