Position Title:Park Management Intern

Minimum Salary: $20.53 Hourly
*APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER.
Position Description:
Under the direction of the Park Manager the Intern will complete duties associated with being a Park Manager. Duties will include but are not limited to working outdoors with the campground hosts, campground attendants, maintenance of the grounds, working with the public, and cleaning of grounds. Other duties that will be required for the Intern to do are as follows: Assisting with and instructing programs for the public to attend, hiking trail construction and maintenance , tree care and maintenance, equipment operation and maintenance, point of sales system operation, employee supervision and management, skid steers, excavators, and UTVs -Report Writing -Project Budgeting -Customer compliance and services. Intern must be able to work as a team and also on their own. Housing will be provided at State rate.
Qualifications:
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment.
