Position Title:Park Management Intern

Position Description:
This is a first time unique position at Sica Hollow State Park. A Park Manager Intern will learn the basics of park management including maintenance, project planning, construction, employee supervision, and customer relations. This position is unique as the intern will split their time between research and construction. The employee will research the history of Sica Hollow and its surrounding areas, which they will use to instruct programs. This information will also be used to inspire new interpretive signs as well. The intern will be responsible for constructing and maintaining the hiking trail. Several of the job duties that are recommended are as follows: Hiking trail construction and maintenance , Tree care and maintenance, Equipment operation and maintenance, Point of sales system operation, Employee supervision and management, skid steers, excavators, and UTVs -Report Writing -Project Budgeting -Customer compliance and services.
Qualifications:
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
