Position Title: Intern - Parole Field Services

Position Description:
The Parole Field Services Intern will provide essential support to statewide parole operations by assisting with offender release reviews, data tracking, and case-note documentation. This role will help maintain key operational data, prepare application materials, and support agents with required documentation. The intern will gain exposure to caseload management practices and the daily workings of community supervision. Additional responsibilities include researching evidence-based supervision and programming practices to identify potential improvements for South Dakota's parole system. Work is completed under the direction of senior staff, with opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects that enhance public safety and operational efficiency. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
Applicants should be pursuing or have completed coursework in Criminal Justice/Criminology, Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology or related fields. Related experience in data entry, research, community services, or corrections related settings is also beneficial.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
