Inventory Coordinator

Job Description

This position is responsible for supporting daily operations of a repair shop by managing parts, materials, and supplies needed

• Receive, inspect, and verify parts against purchase orders

• Stock and organize parts

• Issue parts to technicians and mechanics based on repair orders

• Maintain accurate inventory records in shop management or inventory systems

• Track parts usage by job to support accurate billing and cost control

• Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventories

• Monitor stock levels and notify management of low or critical items

• Coordinate with vendors on:

  • Backorders

  • Returns and core charges

  • Warranty parts

  • Freight damage or discrepancies

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe parts storage areas

Experience:

• Experience in parts, inventory, or shop support roles
• Familiarity with automotive and/or diesel parts and terminology
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to read repair orders, part numbers, and vendor invoices
• Basic computer skills and experience with shop management systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with technicians and vendors
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced shop environment
