Some of the daily tasks that the Janitor/Maintenance Worker will encounter include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Disinfect and clean bathrooms

• Clean front entrances and lobbies

• Clean windows and all vertical and horizontal structures, such as, walls, ceilings, sprinkler heads, etc.

• Sweeps and mops floors

• Performs a variety of semi-skilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, hanging drywall, taping, and texturing

• Makes building rounds, replacing ceiling tiles and lights, checking, and tightening belts, changing filters on air handling units, greasing equipment, moving furniture and equipment, and shoveling snow

• Shampoos and extracts carpets in residential and common areas

• Empties trash throughout the building, as well as confidential material for shredding
• Cleans exam rooms, hallways, swimming pool deck, elevators, gym, classrooms, locker rooms, conference rooms and offices

Job Requirements

A High school diploma/GED is required. Three years of janitorial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
