Job Description

This is a  part-time positon. 

  1. Communicate with Food Service Manager in coordination of meal preparation and serving at both Main and West location.
  2. Put away supplies and document and properly store donations.
  3. Strictly adhere to menus/recipes for every meal
  4. Keep a calm and pleasant demeaner while guiding multiple volunteers in dish washing duties, equipment operation and preparation, serving and cleanup of meals.
  5. Utilizing time management, ensuring meal is ready for service time.
  6. Guide volunteers in serving meal while being aware of food amounts as to ensure every guest receives a meal.
  7. Knowledge and adherence to proper food handling, preparation, serving and storage.
  8. Advise and oversee volunteers to help, as they can, to assure proper cleaning of kitchen/dining room as needed. This will include teardown and cleaning of serving line, prep area, equipment, sweeping and mopping floors in kitchen and washing and folding laundry. 
  9. West location staff will also be responsible for sweeping and mopping dining room and cleaning bathrooms.
  10. Ensure work area is in good order before shift ends including tear down, cleaning and reassembling of dishwasher, ovens emptied and wiped out, sinks drained and cleaned, spice containers, shelves, and countertops wiped and pots, pans and serving utensils in proper location so kitchen is meal ready.
  11. West location staff may facilitate volunteer orientation prior to serving times, oversee and assist volunteers with carrying trays, pouring beverages, gathering and counting tokens and washing tables and ensure dining room runs smoothly during mealtime.
  12. Alert Food Service Manager of supplies needed and improperly working equipment.

Perform other duties as needed
