Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Entry-Level Lab Technician to join our analytical cannabis testing lab. This floater position is designed to support the daily operations of our lab, with a focus on sample preparation and extractions. You’ll work closely with our chemists and quality team to ensure that all incoming cannabis samples are processed efficiently and accurately for analytical testing. Must pass a background check.

This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on lab experience in a fast-paced, regulated environment, with growth potential in analytical chemistry and cannabis science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sample intake, homogenization, and preparation of cannabis and cannabis-derived products (e.g., flower, concentrates, edibles).
  • Execute solvent-based extraction procedures under the supervision of senior chemists.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation for chain of custody and sample tracking.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and lab protocols meticulously.
  • Clean and maintain lab equipment, workstations, and tools.
  • Support chemists with general lab duties as needed, including glassware washing, reagent prep, and inventory checks.
  • Float between roles as needed to assist with quality assurance, data entry, and lab operations.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field preferred, OR relevant lab experience.
  • Prior experience in a laboratory setting (academic or industry) is a plus.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain strict documentation standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfort working with cannabis products in a compliant, scientific setting.
  • Ability to lift 25+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Must pass a Background check.
  • Commute to Flandreau, SD daily.
