Anderson Landscaping, located in Sioux Falls, SD (phone: 605-360-1195), is seeking 6 temporary, full-time Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers for employment from April 1, 2026, through December 15, 2026.
Work Location: Work will be performed at multiple work sites throughout South Dakota in Lincoln, Minnehaha, Lake, Hanson, Moody, Miner, McCook, and Turner counties.
Job Duties: Anderson Landscaping is solely involved in landscaping and groundskeeping work on commercial and residential landscaping projects. Landscapers and groundskeepers will engage in non-agricultural work, performing a variety of tasks essential to the maintenance and beautification of residential and commercial properties. Workers will perform sod laying by preparing soil, measuring areas, and laying sod in designated locations. Workers will engage in regular mowing of lawns and grassed areas using various types of mowers, including walk-behind and riding mowers. Workers will perform trimming and edging of grass, shrubs, and hedges using hand shears, hedge trimmers, and powered equipment to maintain neat property lines and landscaped areas. Workers will plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation in designated locations, preparing soil and ensuring proper planting depth and spacing. Workers will perform watering of lawns, trees, plants, and landscaped areas using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, watering cans, and irrigation equipment to maintain plant health. Workers will apply fertilizers and soil amendments to lawns and plant beds to promote healthy growth and maintain turf quality. Workers will perform digging and raking to prepare soil for planting, remove debris, and maintain landscape beds. Workers may gather and remove litter, fallen branches, leaves, and other debris from properties using hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hedgers, bush trimmers, and axes. Workers may operate vehicles and powered equipment including mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snowblowers, chain saws, electric clippers, and pruning saws. Workers may prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges using shears, pruners, and chainsaws to maintain plant health and aesthetic appearance. Workers must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Experience Required: Workers must have at least three months of experience in landscape techniques. The employer will provide on-the-job training to use equipment and safety techniques.
Wage and Hours: Workers will be paid no less than $17.48 per hour and $26.22 per hour for all hours worked over 40 hours in one workweek. Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed. The employer will offer 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Depending on weather conditions, work on Saturdays may be required. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid bi-weekly by check. The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law.
Housing: The employer will assist the workers with housing accommodation by helping them contact local rental agencies.
Transportation and Reimbursements: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The transportation payment or reimbursement amount will equal the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. The employer will provide daily transportation to and from the job site. The employer will maintain all vehicle maintenance, fuel, and insurance for work-related transportation. Workers will be provided daily transportation to and from the designated pick-up location at the Sioux Falls, SD, central office. In the first workweek, workers will be reimbursed for all visas, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government.
Tools and Equipment: The employer will provide workers at no charge with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
