This is a part-time position, maximum of 20 hours per week, with the Office of the Attorney General. For more information on the Office of the Attorney General, please visit http://atg.sd.gov .

This position provides administrative support for the attorneys at the Office of Attorney General. It provides secretarial/clerical duties using legal terminology, procedures and documents which includes:
  • typing, proofing, and/or finalizing confidential and sensitive letters, memo, legal documents and legal forms;
  • electronically filing legal documents in the South Dakota and District Courts, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals;
  • researching information using various sources for legal documents, forms, etc.

  • ability to accomplish tasks without direct supervision.

Knowledge of:
  • office practices and procedures;
  • excellent spoken and written English grammar.

Skills to:
  • use Microsoft Office products effectively;
  • type at a minimum of 60 words per minute.

Ability to:
  • establish and maintain effective working relationship with office personnel;
  • work independently on assignments with accuracy;
  • pass a background investigation.
