In this position, you will provide specialized therapeutic support to students while partnering closely with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams. From guiding students through emotional regulation and trauma recovery to empowering families in navigating community resources and interagency supports, your work will directly shape brighter outcomes for students both inside and outside of the classroom.

Some of the daily tasks of this role will encounter include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinates with family completion of applications for interagency supports
- Assists families, students, and teams with discharge planning
- Support students and families in accessing community resources, mental health services, and social support
- Assist students, families, and the interdisciplinary team with the transition to adult process
- Assists families and students in the advocacy and self-determination processes
- Conduct social-emotional and psychosocial assessments as part of the IEP (Individualized Education Program) process
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students addressing emotional regulation, social skills, trauma, anxiety, and other mental health or behavioral needs
- Develop and implement social-emotional behavior intervention strategies in collaboration with teachers and staff
- Develop and implement social-emotional goals and objectives for student IEPs in alignment with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, behavior specialists, and school administrators to develop strategies that support students in accessing their education
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing expertise on social-emotional and family factors impacting education
- Advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities within the school and community
- Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and support during behavioral or emotional emergencies
