LIFEGUARD JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Lifeguard
DEPARTMENT: Swimming Pool
REPORTS TO: Pool Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Enforce safety regulations for the protection of guests and maintain cleanliness of the pool and surrounding areas.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with preparation for the pool, maintaining and cleaning pool area.
- Enforcing users to follow rules.
- Checking the chlorine and PH levels.
- Organize and maintain records (water testing logs, attendance, time cards, lesson records, etc.)
- Count daily money.
- Be prompt when reporting for work as scheduled.
- Be alert for potential weather conditions.
- Respond to complaints and requests from the public.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Knowledge of pool operations, practices, and maintenance is encouraged. Ability to maintain records. Make basic mathematical calculations and count money. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Deal with the public and represent City in a positive manner. Ability to be calm under pressure.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS: 15 years or older. CPR and First Aid training and lifeguard training. Evenings and weekends will be required. We will be open July 4, so be prepared to take your turn.
