Job Description
Push Pedal Pull is seeking a detail-oriented, mid-level logistics professional to focus primarily on negotiating freight costs and coordinating freight movements. This role will help secure cost-effective transportation solutions, maintain effective relationships with carriers and freight partners, and support reliable, efficient movement of fitness equipment products. The position is focused on freight coordination and cost management rather than retail or commercial delivery scheduling, key account coordination, or direct-install coordination. Additional responsibilities may be developed as business needs evolve.
Primary Responsibilities
Freight Coordination
Coordinate freight shipments and transportation arrangements to support timely, efficient movement of products.
Communicate with carriers, freight brokers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders regarding shipment details, schedules, and status.
Track shipments, follow up on delays or service issues, and help resolve freight-related exceptions.
Freight Cost Negotiation and Management
Negotiate freight rates and terms with carriers, brokers, and other transportation providers to obtain competitive pricing.
Compare quotes, review rate structures, and evaluate transportation options based on cost, service, and reliability.
Monitor freight costs and identify opportunities to reduce expenses and improve cost efficiency.
Maintain organized records of quotes, negotiated rates, shipment costs, and carrier performance.
Carrier and Vendor Relationships
Develop and maintain productive working relationships with freight providers and other logistics partners.
Review provider performance and address service, pricing, or communication concerns.
Support the evaluation and selection of freight partners based on business needs and agreed service expectations.
Process and Reporting Support
Maintain accurate freight documentation and shipment records.
Prepare or maintain reports related to freight spend, rate comparisons, shipment activity, and cost-saving opportunities.
Identify opportunities to improve freight coordination processes and share recommendations with management.
Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience in logistics, freight coordination, transportation, procurement, or a related operational role.
Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to evaluate freight rates, quotes, and transportation options.
Strong organization, attention to detail, problem-solving, and follow-through.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with external providers and internal teams.
Comfort using Microsoft Office or similar tools to track costs, compare rates, and maintain reports.
Ability to manage multiple shipments, priorities, and time-sensitive issues in a fast-paced environment.
A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant work experience may be considered in place of a degree.
