Bethany Lutheran Home is seeking a hands-on, reliable Maintenance Assistant to help keep our community safe, comfortable, and running smoothly. If you enjoy fixing things, working both indoors and outdoors, and making a real difference in the lives of others—this is a strong fit.
What You’ll Do
You’ll support the day-to-day upkeep of our building, equipment, and grounds, including:
- Perform general repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting)
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs
- Maintain building systems (boilers, AC units, refrigeration, etc.)
- Help with lawn care, snow removal, and seasonal upkeep
- Complete work orders and prioritize maintenance requests
- Set up/tear down for events and assist with equipment moves
- Troubleshoot cable, phone, and facility systems as needed
- Participate in an on-call rotation
What We’re Looking For
- General handyman or maintenance experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work on ladders
- Valid driver’s license required
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
- Enjoy working in a senior care environment
Work Environment
- Indoor and outdoor work (all seasons)
- Occasional evenings/weekends for emergencies or weather-related needs
- Active, hands-on role with variety each day
