Job Description
Sonstegard Foods of Arkansas is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Maintenance Coordinator to support maintenance operations within our liquid egg processing facility.
This role is essential to maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting food safety standards. The Maintenance Coordinator will help ensure preventive and corrective maintenance activities are properly scheduled, documented, and aligned with production demands.
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and works closely with Maintenance Supervisors, Production leadership, Safety, Quality Assurance, and outside contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to support continuous liquid production operations.
- Assist with scheduling maintenance work to minimize production interruptions.
- Create and track purchase requisitions for maintenance materials and services.
- Expedite materials and services for urgent equipment repairs.
- Maintain accurate data and documentation within the maintenance planning system.
- Support daily and weekly maintenance scheduling meetings.
- Ensure Bills of Materials (BOMs) are accurate and up to date.
- Maintain organized records of completed and planned maintenance activities.
- Communicate effectively with Production, QA, and Maintenance teams to ensure alignment with food safety and operational standards.
- Report Environmental, Health & Safety incidents in compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent maintenance coordination experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing or food processing environments.
- Strong organizational, communication, and planning skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with pumps, piping systems, pasteurization equipment, and general plant utilities preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production setting.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Frequent walking during 8–10 hour shifts.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, and access processing equipment areas.
- Ability to climb ladders and elevated platforms.
- Clear verbal communication with plant staff and contractors.
