MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Position Summary

Dakota Digital, Inc., a leading manufacturer of digital automotive instrumentation and electronic vehicle accessories, is seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, repair, and general upkeep of production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.

The Maintenance Supervisor serves as the primary resource for maintenance and repair needs throughout the company. This position requires someone with strong mechanical and technical abilities who is comfortable troubleshooting problems, determining appropriate solutions, and completing a wide variety of repairs.

This is a hands-on position for an individual who takes initiative, enjoys solving problems, and can work independently to keep equipment and facilities operating safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Supervisor should be capable of working on a broad range of manufacturing equipment, including equipment such as Selective Solder machines, while recognizing when specialized outside service is necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform maintenance and repair of production machinery, equipment, facility systems, and company property.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for maintenance and equipment-related issues throughout the facility.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and general equipment problems.
• Repair production machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and maintain efficient production operations.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair a variety of automated and manufacturing equipment, including Selective Solder machines and other specialized production equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend repairs, modifications, or improvements to prevent future issues.
• Assist with equipment installation, relocation, setup, modification, and replacement.
• Perform general facility maintenance and repairs, including basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building-related work within the employee's training and abilities.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and appropriate maintenance and repair records.
• Monitor the condition of equipment and identify potential problems before they result in breakdowns or production interruptions.
• Maintain an appropriate inventory of commonly needed maintenance parts, tools, and supplies.
• Research and obtain replacement parts, equipment, repair options, and maintenance supplies as needed.
• Coordinate with outside contractors, vendors, and service technicians when specialized repairs or services are required.
• Assist production departments with equipment setup, adjustments, troubleshooting, and technical needs.
• Maintain tools, equipment, maintenance areas, and workspaces in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Follow and promote established safety procedures while performing maintenance and repair work.
• Communicate significant equipment concerns, repair needs, anticipated expenses, and maintenance priorities to management.
• Provide direction or assistance to employees involved in maintenance-related projects when necessary.
• Perform other duties, repairs, and special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting abilities.
• Broad knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing equipment.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical and equipment-related problems.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and general facility systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot unfamiliar equipment using manuals, diagrams, schematics, technical documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and other maintenance-related tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to determine practical and cost-effective repair solutions.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs and respond appropriately to urgent equipment issues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of maintenance-related problems.
• Willingness and ability to learn new machinery, equipment, and systems as the company's needs change.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with production employees, supervisors, managers, vendors, and outside service providers.
• Good judgment in determining when repairs can be completed internally and when specialized outside assistance is necessary.
• Commitment to workplace safety and proper maintenance practices.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical, vocational, industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or related training preferred.
• Previous industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience strongly preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing a variety of manufacturing or automated production equipment preferred.
• Previous supervisory or lead maintenance experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and working around production machinery. The employee must be able to safely use maintenance tools and equipment and access machinery as necessary for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
