Role and Responsibilities: - Working independently and with a team, maintain machinery, equipment, and facilities as needed and as efficiently and timely as possible.
- Repair and perform preventative maintenance to ensure the most efficient operation.
- Identify and diagnosis problems on equipment and continually monitor equipment while initiating appropriate repair processes.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Understand and ensure application of biosecurity protocols.
- Coordinate with the manager on tasks ranging from simple part replacement, advanced troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance interventions ensuring that equipment is properly configured and/or set up.
- Install, maintain, rebuild, replace parts, equipment and troubleshoot maintenance problems.
- Contribute to maintenance planning and scheduling activities to assign equipment work orders with manager and supervisor.
- Ensure care and proper use of company assets, including vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or directed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements - High School diploma or GED preferred
- 2+ years of experience in Production, Operations, and/or Maintenance
- Experience troubleshooting issues, identifying, and completing appropriate repairs, and implementing measures to prevent reoccurring maintenance problems
- Working knowledge of the operations, control, and functions of equipment and machinery.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operational leaders
- Customer oriented and have the ability to apply independent thinking and judgement to address conflict resolution

Work Environment - Agricultural swine environment in rural area
- Noise levels that require hearing protection in some areas

Physical Requirements: - Standing, walking and ability to be on feet 8 to 10 hours per day
- Frequent bending, reaching, squatting and kneeling
- Frequent use of one or both hands/arms to grasp or pull
- Frequent lifting of objects weighing 3-20 pounds
- Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds or requiring up to 100 pounds of force to move with the assistance of another person as needed
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to attend and participate in meetings of various lengths
