SCHEDULE: Shift 2: Monday – Thursday | 3:00 PM – 2:00 AM

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys working directly with production teams, improving manufacturing processes, and helping create efficient, high-quality operations.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineer supports all facets of the production floor related to the manufacturing of electronic assemblies and is responsible for defining, improving, and sustaining manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and production systems.

This position works closely with production, quality, and customer teams to investigate and resolve manufacturing challenges, drive continuous improvement initiatives, implement cost-reduction opportunities, and ensure customer expectations are met while maintaining safety, quality, and operational excellence.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Manufacturing Process Support

  • Investigate and resolve process-related issues in support of daily manufacturing operations.

  • Provide technical assistance to production associates, including interpretation of assembly documentation and production standards.

  • Analyze defect data to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Document experiments, process changes, and equipment updates according to established standards.

Equipment & Automation

  • Program, set up, operate, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment throughout the facility.

  • Evaluate, justify, and implement equipment upgrades and new technologies that support process improvements and cost reductions.

  • Design, fabricate, and implement tooling and fixtures used in production operations.

  • Select Solder

  • Wave Solder

  • Robotic Solder

  • 3D Printing

  • X-Ray

  • De-paneling

  • Conformal Coating, Epoxy, and Potting

  • Through Hole Insertion

  • Test Equipment

  • Protype Equipment

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews for new and existing products.

  • Drive process improvement, cost reduction, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives.

  • Continuously review processes and equipment to ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

  • Identify and address safety and OSHA-related concerns.

Training & Customer Support

  • Assist in training associates on manufacturing processes, machine operation, tools, and equipment to maintain process controls.

  • Serve as engineering support for assigned customer teams.

  • Collaborate with vendors, customers, and internal departments to support manufacturing objectives.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in safety and health programs as required.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Work overtime when needed to support customer and operational requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with associates, customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience in electronic manufacturing environments.

  • Experience working with automated manufacturing equipment.

  • Experience with CAD software.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis methodologies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift and carry up to 45 pounds.

  • Distinguish and identify colors.

  • Ability to work around manufacturing odors.

  • Ability to move throughout office and production environments.

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policies and OSHA requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position works in both office and manufacturing production environments and requires regular interaction with production equipment, tooling, and manufacturing personnel.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Manufacturing Engineer is accountable for applying sound engineering principles and manufacturing best practices to support plant operations. This role is responsible for maintaining technical expertise, staying informed on industry developments, and implementing improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Success in this position requires strong project management, effective decision-making, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize work that has the greatest impact on operations and customer satisfaction.

The Manufacturing Engineer is also accountable for promoting safe work practices, complying with company policies and procedures, and contributing positively to the overall success of the ESI team.

SUPERVISION

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but is expected to provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to internal teams and customers.
