Job Description
Use Best Practices to develop new and document existing manufacturing processes. Analyze current documents for effectiveness, maintain and manage revision-controlled procedures in various formats. Use knowledge and experience to develop and revise processes to improve flow and increase repeatability.
- Develop work instructions using various software packages including Office, Cortona, TeamCenter and others to standardize work in production.
- Organize work instructions effectively for easy retrieval. Maintain processes for update to ensure they are controlled and updated in a timely manner.
- Understand and incorporate concepts such as Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Work Instructions, Job Aids, manufacturing practices, process capabilities and problem solving skills in creation of work instructions.
- Support teams and departments to effectively complete projects such as new product development or kaizen events.
- Assist in resolving problems between various departments through the use of standardized work.
- Maintain education and skill level required to perform assigned functions.
- Complete special assignments that are assigned by the supervisor.
- Take and provide direction as required as a team member on projects.
- Work on multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines effectively.
- Exhibit strong judgment and ethical decision-making skills.
- Interface with all levels of the organization, including other facilities.
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is preferred. High school diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of three years of technical writing experience using specialized Software (Cortona 3D), or experience in a specialized manufacturing environment, is required.
- Manufacturing experience is preferred with knowledge of industry best practices (SWI, Job Aids, Training-Within-Industry, etc)
- Must have a working knowledge of document management and learning management software.
- Solids modeling software experience is preferred.
