Overview:
A material handler in our business plays a vital role in managing the flow of building materials. This position involves various responsibilities that ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction
Key Responsibilities:
Loading and unloading: Safely load and unload building materials from trucks and storage areas.
Organizing Materials: Maintain an organized workspace by staging and storing materials in designated areas.
Inventory Management: Accurately count and reconcile incoming and outgoing materials to ensure proper inventory levels.
Customer Assistance: Provide courteous and professional assistance to customers and assist them with their material needs.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Physical Stamina: Ability to Lift and Carry 50 Lbs
Forklift Experience: Proficient in operating forklifts and other handling material. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools.
Attention to Detail: Strong Organizational Skills for effective customer interaction and teamwork
Communication Skills: Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
Math Skills: Ability to perform basic calculations for inventory and material counts
Work Environment: We are looking for a reliable material handling employee to assist in the daily operation of our building material supply business in a fast paced environment which will involve exposure to outdoor elements and heavy machinery. The position is essential for maintaining the efficiency of operations within the yard and ensuring customer needs are met promptly.
Our schedule runs Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, offering great stability and a steady routine. Starting pay is $23.00+ per hour, and we will pay more if you bring
a Class A CDL or relevant building industry experience. Don't have a CDL yet? We highly prefer candidates who have the drive and capability to earn one on the job.
Your day-to-day will stay dynamic and engaging: you will safely pilot local deliveries to customer job sites, master the forklift to load/unload inventory, lift heavy building products, and provide friendly, helpful service to our local contractors and DIY customers.
