DESCRIPTION

General Accountability:


Direct all material operations to insure the production of quality products, in accordance with scheduled requirements and at minimum cost. This includes directing all areas of purchasing, production scheduling, inventory management, inbound transportation, as well as long range resource and strategic procurement planning.


 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Plan all material operations to most effectively achieve corporate objectives. Work with Vice President/General Manager - IC Division to define material needs, and develop budget recommendations to support panned operations.

  • Direct all purchasing operations, ensuring proper planning and source research, coordination and supplier relations, in order to obtain required standards. This also includes directing the purchasing of all IC requirements such as OMP, MRO, equipment, furniture, fleet, etc.

  • Direct the planning and control of inventory, controlling inventory costs, and ensuring support to all manufacturing and marketing operations.

  • Direct all material activities, including translating engineering specifications to material requirements, and allow an analysis of make or buy alternatives.

  • Direct all production scheduling operations, ensuring effective coordination with marketing operations to define sales forecasts. This include directing the translation of sales needs into production schedules to the Vice President/General Manager for approval.

  • Direct cost reduction efforts, identifying, analyzing, and implementing cost saving procedures, throughout the IC division.

  • Maintain an effective organization. This includes analyzing organizational needs, and selecting and developing key subordinates to ensure effective motivation and utilization of employees.

  • Ensure effective performance of all adminstrative functions, including communications and reporting systems.

  • Ensure that all transportation alternatives are analyzed and properly utilised.

  • Direct the division's long range resource planning and strategic procurement planning, to achieve the proper utilization of facilities and equipment long term.

  • Ensure marketing/sales shipping projections are met as scheduled.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• College graduate in Business, Engineering or Production Management.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in related equipment manufacturing, including a minimum of 7 years of supervisory experiences.
• Strong administrative, analytical and leadership ability.
• Ability to handle outside contacts and negotiation effectively.
• Thorough knowledge of principles and techniques in the areas directed, including knowledge of company material needs and production operations.
