Materials Manager
Our client is looking for a Materials Manager a progressive track record of growth and professional development. They will be part of the design team that is currently designing transmission line, substations, switch stations and other electrical infrastructure. Our client is located in the Sioux Falls area and provides the small town environment with all the necessary and desirable amenities in your back yard.
WHAT THE COMPANY WILL OFFER YOU:
- $125,000 -$135,000

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
- 6-8 Direct Reports
- Own the flow of materials from purchase to production, keeping the right parts in the right place at the right time—no last-minute scrambles, no dugout excuses.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships that value consistency, accountability, and fair play, while negotiating pricing and lead times that hold up over a long season.
- Monitor inventory levels, demand patterns, and usage trends to reduce waste, avoid shortages, and keep operations running smoothly even during peak stretches.
- Partner closely with production, planning, and finance to align materials strategy with operational goals, solving problems early instead of reacting late.
- Lead and develop the materials team with a steady hand, clear expectations, and a focus on preparation, discipline, and showing up ready every day.
Job Requirements
BACKGROUND PROFILE:
• Background in materials, supply chain, or operations leadership within a manufacturing or distribution environment where accuracy and timing matter.
• Proven experience managing inventory, suppliers, and purchasing decisions across multiple product lines or production schedules.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with production, planning, and finance to keep materials aligned with real-world demand.
• Track record of improving processes, reducing shortages or excess inventory, and bringing structure to fast-moving or imperfect systems.
• Strong decision-making, clear communication, and a hands-on approach that earns trust from both leadership and the shop floor.
