Department: Production

Reports to: Plant Manager

Job Summary:

A Plant Mechanic/Welder is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and fabricating plant and conveyor systems.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read, understand, and follow all company safety policies and procedures. Acts as a champion of safety.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations related to MSHA, EPA, etc.
• Perform all duties in all types of weather conditions.
• Fabricate, repair, and modify metallic and nonmetallic parts.
• Perform MIG and Arc welding.
• Safely and efficiently use a variety of mechanical and electrical power tools.
• Use of maintenance tools and electrical equipment.
• Work on conveyor systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Work 5 to 6 days per week (Monday thru Saturday).
• Ability to occasionally perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
• May occasionally be exposed to extreme weather conditions as well as exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
