Mechanical Designer

Diamond Mowers seeks a detail-oriented, organized Mechanical Designer to support our engineering team. Responsibilities include creating and reviewing technical drawings and models and facilitating communication with external internal and external stakeholders. This role is crucial for ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope by fostering collaboration and maintaining essential documentation and reporting.

Key Roles

• Create designs for product systems, components, and products using CAD software.

• Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet specifications.

• Gatekeeper for content into the ERP system.

• Administer engineering drawing check process.

• Serve as point of contact between Diamond and outside engineering service providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and refine designs for product systems, components, and products using CAD software.

  • Create and refine 2D and 3D designs.

  • Follow industry standard design practices to ensure clarity and consistency of designs.

  • Revise existing designs based on markups from the engineering and manufacturing teams.

• Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet specifications.

  • Use design for manufacturing principles and reviews to design products that are simple to produce.

  • Perform cross-functional reviews so that designs meet requirements for the organization.

• Gatekeeper for content into the ERP system.

  • Create and update engineering BOM information in the ERP system.

  • Collaborate with the rest of the organization to assist with the implementation of ECOs.

• Administer engineering drawing check process.

  • Ensure that the process of submitting drawings for review and giving feedback runs efficiently.

  • Serve as the gate keeper to releasing approved prints to the vault and into the ERP system.

• Serve as point of contact between Diamond and outside engineering service providers.

  • Produce high-quality technical documents to support the needs of internal and external customers.

  • Streamline the process of developing documentation.

  • Ensure accuracy of these documents.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in engineering support, coordination, or project administration role.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Highly detail oriented.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to spend time on the shop floor to understand real world situations with designs.

• CAD software proficiency (Autodesk Inventor is a plus).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Familiarity with engineering documentation, bills of material, and version control systems is a plus.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interface with multiple departments.

• Manufacturing experience is a plus.

Location: 60^th St

Hours: 8:00-5:00

Days of Shift: Monday-Friday
