***$5,000.00 Hiring Incentive***

This position will work within the Acute Licensed Hospital serving both Adolescent and Adult patients. This position provides a combination of individual, group and family counseling. The position provides clinical oversight to the development and implementation of group curriculum as well as matching evidence-based treatment modalities for individual and family counseling.

Licenses and Certifications:
Candidate must have or be eligible to be licensed as an MSW, LPC or LPC-MH.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Knowledge of:
  • ethical standards, principles, and practices of social work, counseling, and human behavior;
  • human growth and development and their relationship to social work principles and methods;
  • interviewing and other information gathering techniques;
  • state mental health practices and procedures;
  • family counseling dynamics;
  • group counseling dynamics;
  • treatment planning processes and therapeutic techniques;
  • developmental disabilities;
  • severe mental illness;
  • evidence-based and treatment modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI);
  • principles of basic human behavior across the lifespan;
  • therapeutic communication skills;
  • co-occurring disorders;
  • effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • documentation and record keeping;
  • computer applications.

Ability To:
  • develop cooperative and satisfactory contacts with patients, relatives, physicians, social agencies, community officials, and other administrative officials;
  • apply proper interviewing techniques;
  • write meaningful, concise, and accurate reports and correspondence;
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse populations;
  • communicate effectively with a wide variety of people;
  • develop and implement effective therapy, treatment approaches and teaching curriculum;
  • oversee treatment programming;
  • facilitate individual, group and family counseling and therapy;
  • speak to groups;
  • negotiate with various agencies;
  • obtain reliable information;
  • provide clinical oversight to direct treatment;
  • develop evidence-based group curriculum;
  • work with individuals with complex family dynamics;
  • match treatment modalities to a wide range of behavioral and cognitive functioning individuals;
  • utilize various computer applications such as Outlook, Internet, Word and keyboarding.

This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
