POOL MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Manager

DEPARTMENT: Swimming Pool

REPORTS TO: Finance Officer/Park & Pool Chairperson

JOB SUMMARY: Plans, directs and supervises pool operations. The manager supervises the lifeguards.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Scheduling of lifeguards and swimming lessons.

  • Daily preparations for the pool.

  • Operate Concessions stand and maintain an inventory.

  • Checking the chlorine and PH levels.

  • Organize and maintain records (water testing logs, attendance, time cards, lesson records, etc.)

  • Count daily money.

  • Responsible for safety of all pool users and overseeing daily operations of the pool.

  • Be alert for potential weather conditions.

  • Respond to complaints and requests from the public.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Knowledge of pool operations, practices, and maintenance is encouraged. Ability to maintain records. Make basic mathematical calculations and count money. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Deal with the public and represent City in a positive manner. Ability to be calm under pressure.
