Job Description
Job Summary:
This is a full-time position encompassing outdoor activities in the field as well as in an office environment. The Natural Resources Assistant will assist in the activities of the various programs in the Natural Resources Department, including but not limited to:
- Calibrating field equipment and organizing materials before field work events.
- Assist in monitoring surface and groundwater resources for biological, physical, and chemical parameters to determine water quality.
- Assist in preserving water quality samples for both contract lab analysis and limited in-house analysis.
- Assist in limited in-house quality analysis.
- Assist in maintaining supply inventory for both laboratory and field activities.
- Preparation and cleanup of field equipment for before and after a a sampling event.]
- Data entry using Excel and Word.
- Assist in various department outreach program events.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook to clearly communicate information.
- This role will frequently lift and or move more than 50 pounds over hilly terrain for field work.
