About the Role
Provides technical maintenance and recovery support to the firm's information technology systems. Uses a variety of testing tools and techniques to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems associated with the system's hardware and software. Interfaces with vendors and maintenance providers to service and maintain the system, implements necessary measures to limit the system's downtime, and provides technical support to optimize system performance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides technical maintenance and recovery support to the firm's local or wide area networks and technology systems.
- Perform support and administration for network related systems. Test and troubleshoot to resolve complex technical problems associated with the system's hardware and software. Complete work orders as assigned.
- Perform security-related tasks for the network and related systems. Monitor and perform tape backups per rotation and department policy.
- Create and maintain proper system and process documentation. Complete change control documentation.
- Interface with vendors and maintenance providers to service and maintain the system.
- Provide technical assistance to other members and areas of the Technology department, including Network Support and Telecommunications.
- Provide reports to management, including system performance and incident/downtime reporting. Furnish planning reports for areas of responsibility.
- Evaluate, install, and configure new technology, system upgrades and/or enhancements.
- Assist in the evaluation of new systems and programs and potential system enhancements. Identify/develop improvements to existing systems to enhance productivity.
- Assist in the generation of business cases and justifications.
- Install hardware (servers, routers, and network equipment) and software (service packs, patches, and upgrades).
- Coordinate internal and external resources for necessary assistance on implementations or upgrades.
- Manage and perform technical related tasks as required by assigned projects.
- Communicate project progress, provide input/expertise for designated committees and/or teams.
Skills and Qualifications
- Technical expertise building, configuring and maintaining various systems within a data center environment.
- Experience working with technical platforms and installing related operating systems, updates and platform hardening.
- Effective communication skills to inform others when action is required to respond to technology system issues.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify when it systems are not operating optimally.
- Adjusts to new conditions, challenges, or changes with flexibility and a positive attitude.
- Manages time, tasks, and resources efficiently to maintain structure, meet deadlines, and achieve goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field is preferred and 3 to 5 years of IT experience preferred.
- Combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet essential functions and required competencies of the position.
- Previous experience with Microsoft network operating systems, Novell, Unix, Linux, TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, and related network protocols also preferred.
- MSCA, and/or MCSE certification, and/or CCNA, and/or CCNP certifications and one to three years' technology experience, preferred.
