RESPONSIBILITIES: Make a difference every day by supporting the health and well-being in a residential care setting. This role combines hands-on medical oversight, collaboration with clinical providers, and the opportunity to be a trusted resource for staff alike—all within a supportive environment.
- Administer and provide on-going training, oversight, and monitoring of medications certified staff.
- Responsible for security of medications.
- Provide support to physician, psychiatrist, or psychologist in managing the ongoing needs of residents.
- Maintain comfort and safety needs of residents.
- Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of residents.
- Coordinate medication inventories with pharmacy on a scheduled basis.
- May occasionally transport residents to medical appointments.
- Schedule all medical, dental, eye appointments and follow-ups as needed.
- Document medical history, diagnoses, medications, physical assessments and results of all medical appointments for assigned residents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently licensed in South Dakota as an RN.
- Must hold a minimum of an associate’s degree, and one year experience in nursing.
- Knowledge of Medicaid, IHS, and insurance management system preferred, but not required.
- Requires a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one with approved driver status.
- Must be at least 21 years old and able to complete orientation training according to agency program standards.
- Must successfully complete all agency background checks, which include checks for criminal convictions, behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, and drug or sex crimes.
