POSITION TITLE: BCOAC Office Coordinator, Brookings County Outdoor Adventure Center

DEPARTMENT: Brookings County Outdoor Adventure Center

REPORTS TO: Director, BCOAC

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

GRADE: 5

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

General Statement of Duties

BCOAC Office Coordinator is responsible for delivering excellent service of all members, guests and tenants at the BCOAC. Assists director in planning, organizing and overseeing all aspects of the operation of the BCOAC.

Supervision Received

Works under the broad supervision of Director at the BCOAC.

Supervision Exercised

Exercises general and direct supervision over full time, part time and volunteer staff.

Examples of Duties: (Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in positions of this grade)

  • Provides a friendly and polite environment for all guests, volunteers and other staff.
  • Greeting and informing guests as they enter the facility.
  • Directs BCOAC marketing, keeps facility website, social media and calendar up to date.
  • Assists Director in booking and executing events.
  • Manages the day to day operations of facility.
  • Acts as the Director when they are not present.
  • Keeps all records and schedules volunteers/RSO.
  • Takes, maintains and informs BCOAC members of activities at the facility.
  • Assists director in hiring and training of part-time staff.
  • Provides membership and program information in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assists Director with accounts receivable and payable.
  • Assists Director with keeping a clean facility.
  • Answering telephone calls/emails from customers and clients.
  • Monitoring office supplies and ordering as needed.
  • Overseeing the work of the Membership Attendants to ensure productivity and meeting deadlines.
  • Responsible for light custodial work, including but not limited to sweeping, taking out garbage’s, vacuuming, mopping and light dusting.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with 4-H, Game Fish & Parks and assists as needed.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the BCOAC director.

QUALIFICATION FOR APPOINTMENT

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work weekends and nights for public hours/events
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous point-of-sale (POS) experience preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certifications may be required
  • Range Safety Officer Certifications required within the 1st year of hire date

Physical Demand

  • Must be able to bend/stoop/kneel/stand/walk and be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.

Education and Experience

  • Graduation from high school or GED Certificate required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management or related field preferred.
  • Previous customer service or related experience

Any equivalent combination of education and experience as is acceptable to the hiring authority and state statutes.
