The mission of the South Dakota Department of Social Services is strengthening and supporting individuals and families by promoting cost effective and comprehensive services in connection with our partners that foster independent and healthy families.

This position serves as a team member of the Medical Services Operations team. This position will help answer calls made to the Constituent Liaison Line, ensuring timely and accurate support for inquiries and requests from Medicaid Recipients. Additionally, this position will help monitor the recipient liaison phone line inbox, returning calls as needed, assist with claims entry and processing, and performing other duties as needed within Medical Services Operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • knowledge of the different Medicaid claims payment methodologies (preferred but not required);
  • knowledge of Medical Assistance programs and eligibility (preferred but not required);
  • knowledge of proper business English including grammar, spelling, and punctuation;
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access;
  • knowledge of websites and internet navigation;


This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
