Job Description

Divine Mercy Pastorate (Christ the King, St. Mary, and Saint John Paul II Parishes) in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an Operations Coordinator.

The Operations Coordinator, as a lifelong Catholic missionary disciple, will provide critical administrative support to Divine Mercy Pastorate, so that they can advance the mission of the pastorate. This role maintains accurate electronic parish and sacramental records within diocesan systems, safeguarding data integrity through careful review, organization, and attention to detail. Goals of the position include creating a positive and uplifting experience that aligns with the mission and vision while evangelizing by witness, word, and action, and enhancing communication within and beyond the Pastorate community.

The successful candidate will take direction from the Leadership Team, including clergy, and report directly to the Business Manager. This position comes with a generous compensation package including a competitive wage, paid time off, benefits, and retirement.

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Registers new/transferring parishioners into the diocesan system of record(s) and coordinates follow-up and invitation into the pastorate community.
  • Updates and maintains Parish records, including census data within the diocesan system of record(s).
  • Has the ability to review, identify inconsistencies, and recognize patterns in data to ensure data is clean and complete.
  • Creates and maintains operational and parish reports
  • Be a welcoming presence at the Christ the King parish front desk while handling their inquiries using pastorate technology software, where applicable.
  • Prepares correspondence, including draft and edit letters, and uses mail merge to send out letters to various groups in our pastorate.
  • Serve as a backup in scheduling on the master calendar.
  • Maintain/track school gift cards.
  • Distribute mail and other correspondence
  • Participate in staff enrichment and development activities, monthly Mass, and brown bag luncheons.


Qualifications:

Primary

  • Willingness and ability to effectively make known the Catholic Church’s teachings through the varied ministry activities expected of this position.
  • Willingness and ability to act as an outstanding personal witness to the Catholic faith and religion by living both one’s professional and personal life in accordance with the doctrines and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as embodied in the various documents of the Roman Catholic Church, including, without limitation, the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church.

Education/Experience

  • Two-year degree and/or experience in administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Related experience and familiarity with the liturgical/sacramental aspects of the Church.

Other Elements

  • Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community

  • Computer skills, especially with entering, maintaining, and understanding data in systems of record
