Smart Commercial Construction, Co. is a design-build commercial construction company dedicated to achieving a high level of client satisfaction in a timely fashion. Established in 2013 after many years of experience in the residential and commercial sectors, the company recognized a demand for a commercial product with more finesse than what typically exists in the commercial construction marketplace.

As an Operations & Estimating Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of commercial construction projects. This position blends project management support, estimating, and administrative coordination to keep projects moving efficiently from initial concept through closeout. You will be involved in all phases of the construction process while working closely with project managers, superintendents, trade partners, and clients.

This role is well-suited for a skilled, detail-oriented construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety in their day, and can confidently balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

PAY & WAGE STRUCTURE:

The Operations & Estimating Specialist is a full-time, year-round position, with pay commensurate with experience.

HOURS & SHIFTS:

Our standard work week is 40–45 hours, Monday through Friday, in the office. Occasional work-from-home opportunities may be available once the employee is fully familiar with the role.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Drafting, proofreading, and editing documents for internal and client use
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Analyze project specifications, blueprints, deadlines, and other relevant documents to gain a thorough understanding of the project requirements.
  • Evaluate cost estimates, bid proposals, regulations, requirements, and administrative costs to minimize errors.
  • Maintain detailed records of cost estimates, bid proposals, and relevant project documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Experience reviewing field timecards, job logs, and project cost reports, with the ability to validate accuracy, track budget impacts, and process/approve related invoices.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a background check
