The Operations Manager is expected to meet the qualifications as outlined below. This position is a vital part of the overall success of our organization as a manufacturer of animal feed and nutritional products and services. This position is the POC for quality and is a partner with the Plant Manager to assist in scheduling products working with customer service to provide on time and in full orders. This position oversees Sourcing and bridges the gap between Operations and Manufacturing to provide a world class Customer Experience.

The objective of this position is to direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for safety, production, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Plan, organize, direct, and run day-to-day functions in the front office collaborating with the Plant Manager.
• Be responsible for sourcing and logistics efficiencies.
• Be responsible for product quality and on-time delivery to meet customer expectations.
• Be the POC for regulatory compliance and assisting with but not limited to FDA, OSHA, EPA and various state and local agencies.
• Communicate with company leadership all pertinent information that will assist in the overall operations of the company.
• Execute strategies and implement key initiatives with a clear sense of direction and focus.
• Recruit, manage and develop office staff.
• Coordinate and conduct plant physical inventory working with the Plant Manager.
• Be responsible for overseeing ingredient delivery to the plant to ensure order fulfillment and efficiency.
• Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives.
• Manage special projects bridging Manufacturing and Operations.
• Additional projects required or directed by the VP of Operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ feed industry experience
• Experience in Sourcing.
• Experience in logistics and transportation
• Experience with customer complaint resolution
• Experience with livestock and animal agriculture
• Experience with supply chain and inventory management
Minimum Requirements:
• 5 or more years of previous supervisory experience in a feed manufacturing environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of FSMA requirements
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of employees.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Strong team building, decision making and people management skills.
• Analysis of risk management with strong decision-making abilities
