The position is responsible to schedule commission proceedings, meetings and events; prepare logistics for certain meetings such as securing and setting up location and coordinating among participants; maintain a comprehensive commission calendar; compile bi-weekly commission meeting agendas; coordinate commissioner travel arrangements; oversee, at a project level, the functionality, performance, and reliability of PUC websites; serve as liaison between the PUC and the state Bureau of Information and Technology regarding website development and ongoing IT issues; monitor and track legislation; process telecommunications registrations; provide administrative support as needed and handle other duties as assigned by supervisor. Position reports to the commission's executive director.
This position works in a typical office environment. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends may be necessary for event support or critical deadlines.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, or a related field and a minimum of two years of experience in administrative operational support.

- Strong written skills with high level of attention to grammar, punctuation, syntax, and clarity.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly and effectively convey information, actively listen and engage with others in a professional manner.

Ability to:- Ability to work independently, take initiative, research options, and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to prioritize and follow up on tasks and projects;
- Ability and willingness to work occasional extended hours.
- Ability to be adaptable and accommodate changing situations and workloads.
- Ability to set and meet deadlines.
- Ability to understand and recommend content management strategies for websites.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds to load and unload materials and equipment for meetings and events.
Knowledge of: - IT infrastructure, tools, and services to enable clear communication between and among BIT reps and PUC staff to support development and management of applications, including PUC websites.
- Microsoft Office 365 with proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as other related software applications.
Additional Information: Travel and overnights are occasionally required to attend meetings, conferences, and other events. A valid driver's license is required.
