Sioux Falls Lutheran School is seeking a passionate, energetic educator to serve our growing school community. This position may be part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate’s schedule, experience, and gifts.
Responsibilities
- Teach music and conduct rehearsals and performances for student orchestras.
- Provide individual and group instruction in instrumental techniques.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to facilitate academic and spiritual growth.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that support a differentiated learning experience to meet the needs of all students.
- Foster a loving and supportive classroom atmosphere where students feel encouraged to practice their faith.
- Teach and model Christian living across the curriculum, promoting a strong moral and ethical foundation.
- Integrate faith and learning in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and parents to enhance the overall Christian education experience.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- A passion for Christian education and a love for students
- Know Jesus as Lord and Savior
- Bachelor’s degree and endorsements in the area of the teaching assignment
- A valid South Dakota Teacher Certificate with endorsements in the assigned content area (or willingness to obtain one)
- Experience using effective, developmentally appropriate instructional strategies
- Creative, resourceful, flexible, and collaborative team member
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
- Experience with Suzuki methods, philosophy, and instruction preferred
- Commissioned Minister of Religion with the LC-MS, or willing to complete the Synod’s colloquy program, preferred
