Avera is seeking a strategic, communicative and compassionate Outpatient Therapist.

 

Position Highlights:

Job Summary

  • Responsibilities are to assist in coordinating, planning, implementing and facilitating programs and counseling services on an outpatient basis. 
  • The outpatient therapist’s responsibilities may include several of the following areas:  individual, group and family counseling, crisis services/evaluation, tele-therapy services, and current and future groups/programs. 
  • All of these areas may involve providing assessments, facilitating treatment and crisis intervention of clientele affected by mental health or dual diagnoses issues. 
  • Providing community/education services will be a part of this position and some travel is occasionally required.

Education and/or Experience

  • Master’s degree is required.
  • Three years related experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Preferred candidates will have clinical experience facilitating group therapy sessions and providing individuals counseling services.
  • Experience working with clients having dual diagnoses issues (addictive disorders in conjunction with mental health conditions).
  • Clinical experience with couples and/or family therapy is preferred.

 Certification, Licensure, Registration

  • South Dakota Professional License required; which includes one of the following:
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker-LCSW or
    • Licensed Professional Counselor
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisee required.
  • Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP) required within 30 days of employment.

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
    • Day shift

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

  • $28.75 - $43.50 per hour
