Job Description

  1. Job Summary:
    1. King Law Firm, P.C. is a busy Sioux Falls personal injury, work comp, and social security disability law firm. We are looking to hire an experienced litigation paralegal. They will work closely with the attorneys in preparing legal documents, filing court documents and pleadings. The paralegal will assist at all points on the case.
  2. Responsibilities & Duties
    1. Document Management: Organizing, managing, and retrieving legal documents (including court stamped filed copies), ensuring proper filing and access.
    2. Communication: Communicating with colleagues, clients, healthcare providers, attorneys, schools, government organizations, and the court (including drafting correspondence and emails).
    3. Scheduling and Calendar Management: Scheduling appointments and monitoring attorney calendars, and making sure statutes of limitation are properly calendared.
    4. Clerical Tasks: Answering phones, taking messages, and handling other routine office tasks.
    5. Data Entry: Entering and maintaining case information in client files.
    6. Writing: Drafting motions and pleadings. Editing briefs.
    7. Legal: Gather and analyze legal research. File pleadings with court clerk, Department of Labor and Regulation, etc.
    8. Service of Documents: Work with Sheriff's offices and process servers to properly serve Defendants within the statute of limitation.
  3. Qualification & Skills
    1. Paralegal Certificate or substantial legal experience
    2. Legal Experience (1-2 years minimum)
    3. Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
    4. Familiar with online court filing systems
    5. Able to manage multiple deadlines
    6. Highly organized
    7. Strong written and communication skills
  4. Pay/Benefits
    1. $25/hour - depending on experience
