Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Day Shift
NEW HIGHER STARTING WAGE • $19+/hour Based on Experience

From morning routines to daily connections, our day shift CNAs are the heart of our community, bringing energy, kindness, and hands-on care to residents throughout their day.
Here’s what you’ll do:
· Support overall resident well-being and safety.
· Assist residents with morning care routines, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, and toileting.
· Assist with mobility exercises as instructed by the care plan.
· Serve and assist with breakfast and lunch, ensuring proper diet, hydration, and monitoring intake.
· Take and record vital signs, weights, fluid intake, and output accurately.
· Prepare residents for and assist with therapy sessions, appointments, and activities.
· Provide reassurance, companionship, and emotional support to residents and families.
· Document residents’ behaviors, mood changes, and any significant observations.
· Monitor residents for safety, comfort, and medical needs (if applicable).
· Ensure call lights are answered promptly.
· Report any changes in residents’ conditions promptly to the Charge Nurse.
· Follow infection control procedures, including proper use of PPE.
· Observe and report safety hazards in the resident care areas.
· Assist in emergency situations as directed by the Charge Nurse.
· Ensure residents’ rooms and personal spaces are clean, safe, and comfortable.
· Support licensed nurses (RNs/LPNs) in carrying out care procedures.
· Assist with documentation and handoff reports to evening shift staff.
· Help train or mentor new CNAs or nursing assistants (if experienced).
· Additional job duties as required.
Physical Requirements:
o Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25–50 lbs.
o Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods.
o Ability to assist with resident transfers safely (including use of mechanical lifts).
Work Requirements:
o Must pass a criminal background check.
o Must have a negative TB test or be willing to complete one.
o Must meet facility immunization requirements (e.g., flu shot, COVID-19 if applicable).\
o Must follow infection prevention and safety protocols.
o Ability to work the day shift.
o Willingness to take part in scheduled weekend/holiday rotations.
Here’s what you’ll need:
· High school diploma or GED.
· Active CNA certification in the state of South Dakota (preferred, but not required).
· Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing (preferred, but not required).
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:
· Ability to successfully pass CNA certification training, if applicable.
· Comfortable working with the geriatric population.
· Patient and attentive to residents’ needs.
· Ability to follow care plans and instructions.
· Dependable with strong attention to detail.\
· Strong communication skills with residents, families, and nursing staff.
· Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
· Reliable, punctual, and flexible.
· Ability to work well independently and as part of a care team.
· Eager to grow professionally while contributing to a mission that truly matters.
