Job Title: Parts Manager
Position Summary:
The Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the parts department, including inventory management, purchasing, customer service, and team supervision. This role ensures the timely availability of parts and supplies while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting service, maintenance, and sales operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all parts department activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and conduct regular inventory audits.
- Order parts, supplies, and materials from approved vendors.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure availability while minimizing excess inventory.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Review and process purchase orders, invoices, and warranty claims.
- Ensure proper receiving, storage, and distribution of parts.
- Assist customers and internal departments with parts inquiries and orders.
- Manage pricing, returns, and core credits.
- Supervise, train, and support parts department employees.
- Analyze inventory reports and recommend improvements to inventory control procedures.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Previous experience in parts management, inventory control, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of parts inventory systems and purchasing processes.
- Experience in trucking, automotive, heavy equipment, or fleet industries preferred.
- Supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
