JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Support Technician (PST) is the first point of contact for patients of Falls Community Health. PSTs schedule appointments over the phone, check in patients for their appointments and support the clinical team through various tasks. Strong customer service, attention to detail and a willingness to serve are key characteristics of this position. We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic who is reliable, dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to give their best effort each day. Key duties include:
Check In/Out:
Greet patients
Verify patient demographics and insurance coverage
Determine financial eligibility
Collect payment(s)
Schedule follow-up appointments, including arranging interpreter services and transportation if necessary
Assist in the completion of various forms of patient paperwork
Scheduling:
Schedule new and established patients via telephone
Coordinate referrals
Arrange interpreter services and transportation, if necessary
Work with the clinical team (nurses, providers, counselors, etc.) to meet patient scheduling needs
Additional Duties May Include:
Receive patient messages and route to the appropriate location
Maintain accurate patient medical records
Assist with account reviews
Complete projects as directed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of a medical assistant program and/or one (1) year of experience in a medical or dental office environment dealing with medical or dental records, reception, and patient scheduling; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.
Must possess or be able to obtain prior to hire a valid driver’s license.
