Job Summary:

Our Horse Creek Quarry is an aggregate crushing and washing facility located approximately 31 miles northwest of Cheyenne, Wyoming. The Horse Creek Plant Manager is responsible for all activities at the overall site, including but not limited to production, safety, employee development, adherence to regulations, equipment utilization, plant maintenance, budget, loadout, scaling, and housekeeping. During winter months, the mobile crushing plant will be relocated to our sites in the Fort Lupton/Firestone, Colorado area for further production needs, and this position is expected to manage the plant operation at our Colorado sites.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Recruits, interviews, hires, prospective team members.
• Oversees the daily workflow of the site.
• Fosters employee development.
• Provides constructive and timely employee performance evaluations.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Follows and enforces all company safety policies and procedures. Acts as a champion of safety.
• Implements, enforces, and stays up to date with local, state, and federal regulations related to MSHA, EPA, and labor practices.
• Directs and supervises all production, and subcontractor activities.
• Coordinates material extraction, including blasting subcontractors, and adherence to the mine plan permit requirements.
• Manages stockpiles of raw materials and finished products, ensuring accurate tracking of inventory levels.
• Establishes quality control measures to ensure that the produced aggregate meets the required specifications and standards.
• Ensures all equipment at the overall site is properly maintained and ready for operation at the start of each scheduled production shift.
• Audits existing maintenance plans and modifies them as required to strive for optimal performance of site operations at all times.
• Coordinates with management to determine required inventory and production demands and mine plans.
• Ensures the competence and development of employees by initiating training, coaching, counseling, or discipline procedures on a continuous basis.
• Manages the plant’s budget, including operational expenses, maintenance costs, and capital expenditures. Identifies opportunities for efficiency and improvements.
• Oversees housekeeping to ensure site is safe and visually appealing.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A four-year degree in mining engineering or a related field is a plus.
• 5+ years’ experience in aggregate operations and personnel management is preferred.
• Drilling and blasting experience and or knowledge is a plus.
• Strong team-building and coaching skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivation with a strong ability to lead a team.
• An attitude of continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills – listening, verbal, written, and presentation.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Tools.
• A valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to occasionally perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
• May occasionally be exposed to extreme weather conditions as well as exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
