Silencer Central is modernizing the technology platform behind eCommerce, fulfillment, compliance, warehouse operations, and software delivery. As our first Platform Engineer, this role will build the internal developer platform, automation standards, and delivery practices that help engineering move faster with consistency, quality, and control.
The Platform Engineer will own near-term DevOps execution while building secure, reusable cloud, CI/CD, infrastructure, observability, database, and automation patterns across Azure and Azure DevOps.
Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
• Build an internal developer platform to reduce manual coordination and accelerate secure delivery.
• Create reusable cloud, pipeline, infrastructure, database, and automation patterns.
• Improve release confidence through CI/CD standards, testing, observability, and risk-based controls.
• Manage and triage cloud service execution issues to meet platform infrastructure and cloud service SLAs.
• Design and maintain Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and repeatable environment patterns.
• Standardize CI/CD for builds, tests, promotions, approvals, rollback, and release readiness.
• Create reusable pipeline templates, infrastructure modules, runbooks, and deployment patterns.
• Embed quality gates, security checks, performance testing, and release controls with engineering and QA.
• Implement observability, monitoring, load testing, alerting, synthetic testing, and production health visibility.
• Build automation for deployments, pipelines, monitoring, data movement, integrations, and platform operations.
• Support database-aware practices across relational, cloud-native, and document database environments.
• Support secure delivery through identity, secrets, least privilege, vulnerability visibility, and secure defaults.
• Troubleshoot production, staging, infrastructure, networking, pipeline, and third-party integration issues.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and modern software delivery.
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code, automation, scripting, configuration management, and provisioning.
• Coding or scripting experience for automation, platform tooling, deployments, ETL, and integrations.
• Working knowledge of databases, data movement, performance, recovery, access, and environment configuration.
• Experience with secure, reliable, observable, and performance-aware workflows across SDLC environments.
• Knowledge of cloud security, networking, identity, secrets, monitoring, logging, and compliance-minded engineering.
• Exposure to modern observability, security, source control, container, and cloud platform tooling.
• Ability to turn engineering pain points into reusable platform capabilities, standards, and self-service enablement.
• Comfort working in a small, fast-moving team with hands-on ownership and strong collaboration.
• Ideal background includes experience as a senior DevOps, Cloud, Site Reliability, Platform, or software-adjacent infrastructure engineer, with readiness to establish the first formal platform engineering capability in a growing organization.
• Ability to own DevOps execution today while building standards, automation, database-aware deployment practices, and delivery patterns that scale software delivery over time.
Success Measures:
• Developers spend less time waiting on deployments, environments, permissions, and repeated infrastructure work.
• CI/CD pipelines become consistent, secure, observable, performance-aware, reusable, and easier to audit.
• Engineering output scales through automation, repeatability, quality gates, developer enablement, and release controls.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $102,000-$125,000. Silencer Central offers a competitive total compensation package that includes:
