POLICE OFFICER- City of Huron:
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
Under the general supervision of a Patrol Sergeant or Captain, this position offers an exciting opportunity to begin or advance a career in law enforcement while making a meaningful impact in the community. We welcome candidates of all experience levels and provide comprehensive on-the-job training, mentorship, and support to help you succeed. In this role, you will protect the public, enforce laws, and develop your skills through hands-on experience, with clear pathways for professional growth and advancement within the department.
Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
A two-year technical degree in law enforcement or a related field is preferred but not required.
Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a South Dakota Law Enforcement Certification within one (1) year of employment (training provided).
Ongoing employment requires maintaining all certifications through continuing education and training opportunities.
Must hold a valid South Dakota driver’s license.

Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a South Dakota Law Enforcement Certification within one (1) year of employment, along with a valid South Dakota driver’s license.
