POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Assembler is responsible for performing all tasks involved in the production of aluminum trailers. This includes measuring, cutting, and drilling of aluminum, plywood, and skins. All Production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of Production. Position offers on job training. Training may include shop print reading, light assembly, and aluminum welding. Job requirements are close to residential and commercial carpentry and construction trade type of work and require some mechanical aptitude, good hand-eye coordination, while using various types of shop equipment and cordless power hand tools.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assembles different facets of a trailer, including but not limited to inside trim, fenders , rough or finished wiring, and framing in accordance with the work order. Balances productivity with quality and safety.
Reads and follows blueprints and work orders, ensuring a quality product that meets customer demands; performs work as assigned by the line supervisor.
Obtains raw materials from Material Handlers. Cut material in accordance with specifications on the cut list.
Notifies supervisor of any mechanical or material issues, including but not limited to, defects in material, damage to the trailer, and deviations from work order.
Ensures that the finished product meets quality expectations. Strives for the highest level of quality and continuous improvement.
Maintains a clean and safe work area; works to minimize scrap, places unused material back in the appropriate area, and disposes of waste appropriately.
Follows all safety procedures, wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and reports any accidents or near misses to the supervisor immediately.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
DESIRED EDUCATION//EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: hands-on experience working with a variety of power tools and reading a tape measure.
Previous experience working in a manufacturing or construction environment is helpful; however, on-the-job training may be provided.

Must be able to work quickly without sacrificing quality or safety.
