Job Description

Summary/Objective:  The Production Coordinator is part of the manufacturing support team and will manage capacity, throughput, and optimize flow for all manufacturing and support functions. This position will coordinate activities associated with development, implementation, and results in the planning and scheduling all levels of production to satisfy sales requirements and finished goods stocking levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and negotiate an effective plan for internal and external manufacturing requirements
  • Analyzes customer demand to manage capacity and schedule customer requirements
  • Ensures that all production and support functions adhere to deadlines and quality standards
  • Manages stocking levels for finished goods, and work-in-progress.
  • Facilitates new product introductions with the new part team
  • Leads team meetings so establish production priorities
  • Uses the required software for scheduling and simulating shop capacity
  • Revises production schedules as required to support internal and external demand
  • Identifies, recommends and takes corrective actions to solve scheduling/capacity issues
  • Interfaces with purchasing, and customer service for production planning and procured items
  • Support other duties as assigned

Skills and Specifications:

  • Relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment or four-year degree preferred.
  • Experience with purchasing, expediting, MRP/ ERP systems, quality/continuous improvement initiatives, manufacturing safety practices
  • Individual must possess active listening and excellent communication skills for clear, concise requests resulting in accurate production information updates.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills, and problem solving/analysis abilities
  • The ability to teach and train others in a coach or mentor role as needed
  • Must possess strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
